Christmas Carol Lyrics Game~ Answers!

Posted on 07:30 by retino

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas! :-) I had a wonderful (and snowy!) Christmas at home with my family. Hopefully there will be a long post about that with lots of pictures coming soon!
Here are the answers to the Christmas carol lyrics game I posted last week. Many thanks to all you who played! : P

Carol #1

For Christ is born of Mary, and gathered all above
While mortals sleep, the angels keep their watch of wond'ring love.

Answer: O Little Town of Bethlehem

Carol #2

Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth
Life and life to all He brings
Ris'n with healing in His wings

Answer: Hark! The Herald Angels Sing

Carol #3

Now when they came to Bethlehem,
   Where our sweet Savior lay,
They found Him in a manger,
   Where oxen feed on hay.

Answer: God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen

Carol #4

  Come to Bethlehem and see,
Him Whose birth the angels sing
   Come adore on bended knee
Christ the Lord, our newborn King.

Answer: Angels We Have Heard On High

Carol #5

The star drew nigh over the northwest
Over Bethlehem it took its rest,
And there it did both stop and stay,
Righ over the stable where Jesus lay.

Answer: The First Noel

Carol #6

  The rising of the sun,
  The running of the deer,
The playing of the merry organ,
  The singing in the choir.

Answer: The Holly and the Ivy

Carol #7

  Sing, choirs of angels,
   Sing in exultation,
O sing, all ye citizens of Heav'n above:
"Glory to God, glory in the highest."

Answer: O Come, All Ye Faithful

Carol #8

   Dream, dream, dream,
Of the joyous day to come.
   While guardian angels withour number,
Watch you as you sweetly slumber.
   Dream, dream, dream,
Of the joyous day to come.

Answer: Still, Still, Still

Carol #9

I thought how, as the day had come,
  The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along the unbroken song
Of peace on earth, good will to men.

Answer: I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day

Carol #10

   From the distant mountains
   Hear the trumpet sound
   With angelic blessings
   On the silent town.

Answer: Sing We Now of Christmas

                                                       Players' Scores
                                                 Miss Laurie-- 40 points
                                                          Sadie-- 15 points
                                                          Hamlette-- 15 points

I actually forgot to say in the game how the scoring went, so just so ya know, I've given five points for each correctly guessed Christmas carol. Thanks for playing ladies! : )
